Abstract
Compared to several years ago, the population of radiation workers was steadily increased and total occupational radiation dose for radiation worker was also increased. However the management of radiation dose for radiation workers was only controlled by personal dosimeter(Film batch, TLD and OSL). It was important that considering not only the occupational group of radiation workers but also the dose of radiation workers. In this research, therefore, occupational exposure to radiation in KIRAMS has been measured by personal dosimeter for 10 year period between 2001 and 2010. Monitored occupational dose data were statistical analyzed according to year-on year, Job groups and gender. The number of average radiation worker per 10 years was 206. An analysis of dose of radiation worker for 10 years showed that the total collective effective dose was 1694.8 mSv, the average effective dose per year was 169.5 mSv and the personal average dose per year was 0.8 mSv. Only 20% of total radiation workers were more exposed than the average effective radiation dose and most of overexposure workers work in Nuclear medicine facility, radiation therapy facility, nuclear science research team, radiopharmaceutical product facility, accelerator research team and national radiation emergency medical center. Though the gender ratio of total radiation workers was 6:4, the gender ratio of overexposure workers was 8:2 by year. Overall the all analysis data, it was necessary to consider the correct usage of personal dosimeter for radiation workers and control the proper personnel radiation exposure management.
